My Olympia experience
Hi....
I just arrived home on Sunday from my five day trip to Las Vegas. I had travelled to Vegas to watch the Mr/Ms Olympia competition..it was awesome!
First of all, I would like to say that women's bodybuilding is not dead.....contrary to the words of Bob C. (the IFBB rep) and David Pecker.....women's bodybuilding is alive and thriving. Although the women's bodybuilding event was held in the expo, there was a huge crowd for the event. Many spectators were left standing for the entire event due to the lack of seating provided.
Secondly, I must say that my trip was one hell of an experience..... I had never been to Vegas until now nor had I ever seen the Olympia...I'm planning to return for the show again next year. I came home with lots of candid pics that will be available for viewing in the upcoming weeks including a pic with me and the newest Ms O...Yaxeni!
I quickly learned that the city of Vegas does not sleep....there is something to see or do at any hour of the day/night. I took full advantage of my trip...I toured the strip until the wee hours of the morning two nights in a row....I saw all of the events and did a bit of gambling too. This trip was the most sleep deprived five days of my whole life.... The host hotel was very accomodating...there were some grumblings about the fact that it wasn't the 'Mandalay bay', but I thought it was just fine.
As for the Olympia expo, it was huge! I saw old friends and made some new ones too. I did lots of shooting while I was away....the pics will be available soon.
The weather in Vegas was warm and sunny...it was a nice break from the early winter weather we're experiencing here in BC. I was actually kind of sad to come home....
that's all for now....
