I'm home....

I'm finally home! It feels like I have been gone forever...it sure is nice to sleep in my own bed again :)
An update for ya:
My trip to the Canadian nationals this year was far from fun....our flight was extremely turbulent, delayed by more than one hour and just all around crappy! The competition itself was quite the experience, I was able to catch-up with my pal Nicole Ball amongst other competitors and I also met Cindy Phillips for the first time...she is even more cute in person! This years Nationals was a learning experience for me on what NOT to do....my body did not respond well to the depletion process....typically I wouldn't do such a thing, but my trainer and I thought we'd try something different this year..in the end, the results were catastrophic...I'm certainly not making excuses, but I was FLAT AS A PANCAKE by the time I stepped on stage...so depleted that I looked like I had shrunk down to the point of having almost zero development. I was horrified by the pics I saw when I got home. I certainly won't be doing that again....there really isn't a perfect method to depleting before a show...oh well, you live and you learn. Believe it or not, I weighed in at 120.4. Instead of being miserable about my placing and the package I presented this year...I have decided to regroup and focus on next year, using this past competition as a HUGE learning experience and pressing onward.

A few pics from the show:

My trip to Las Vegas after the competition was a blast! I was able to do some shopping, see a bit of 'the strip' and eat. It was nice to visit with Denise on the ME shoot as I had not seen her in a while. I met Melissa Dettwiller for the first time and I had the opportunity to hang out and visit with my friend Tatianna Anderson too. The weather was very warm and sunny, I loved it! We did take some candid 'behind the scenes' pics which I will have access to when Tatianna gets home from the Olympia next week. I will post them then.

Now that I'm home...I need to catch up on some much needed rest! I'm taking a few weeks off from the gym to let my body heal, eat some junk food, vist with family and friends as well as return to work.

I'm eagerly awaiting the results from the Olympia competition!

Have a great weekend!

before I go....

With only 5 days to go, I'm in the process of packing up my last minute 'odds and ends' before I depart for Saskatoon. How much can a girl really pack, well lets put it this way, I have three suitcases...lol...I have been packing for two trips at once....my trip to the competition and my trip to Las Vegas right after the show. I'm obviously well over the luggage limit and weight restriction, but luckily enough my family is driving out so they can take my luggage with them. Between food, competition crap - suits, towels, sheets, make-up, photoshoot clothing, regular clothing etc. I have a ton of stuff I need with me on this trip. Not to mention the fact that I'm travelling from warmer weather here in BC to cooler weather in Saskatoon and then off to hot weather in Vegas. The last time I was in S'toon to compete is was freakin' cold.

I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to all of my friends and family who have supported me through my entire pre-contest prep. You have all made things much easier/less complicated for me!

Be sure to check back to my 'Goddess of the month' feature on Andy's site, he'll be updating my page with new pics twice before the end of the month.

That's all for now...I'll write more when I get home from Las Vegas closer to the end of the month.

1 week to go!!!

It's hard to believe that the weigh-in is a week away and that I'll be back up on stage in 8 days!!! Good grief! Time is passing too quickly! I'm anxiously awaiting my departure...things will be much more relaxed once I arrive in Saskatoon and that is why we're flying in early....I NEED some rest! I have 11 family members travelling out to see the show and several friends who'll be making the trek from BC too....not to mention all of my family and friends in my 'hometown' of S'toon who will be coming out to see the show....it should be a nice reunion! Yes, I was born and raised in Saskatoon and then I relocated to beautiful Victoria where the winter months are much, much milder. Although I miss having a 'snowy' Christmas, I don't miss freezing my ass off for half the year AND I certainyl don't miss shovelling the car out in the morning or plugging it in at night...lol...instead, I have settled for coastal rain showers.

It's only a matter of days before I'm off to the show so this may be one of my last updates before I go...if I have a few spare moments I'll be sure to try and write more.

Now for an update...things here have been rough lately, my mom has been extremely ill and was minutes away from losing her life only one week ago. She is getting better, thank goodness, but she may not be able to travel to see the show :( Aside from dealing with my mom's health issues, my head cold took the liberty of spreading to my chest.....it's capitalizing on my already compromised immune system...I don't have much to fight it off with so, it has made things complicated. Breathing and sleeping have been a challenge these days. To top things off, I had a nagging shoulder injury that seems to have healed, but now I have pulled my hamstring which is causing me some unnecessary stress, it hurts like hell! Needless to say, tomorrow will be one of my last workouts before I leave, my hamstring needs attention and it's going to get some! It should be healed in time for the show.

I'm off to eat some chicken and broccoli!
I'll leave you with a quick pic from the gym today....

almost Saturday!

It's Septemeber 1st and I can't help feeling like I wished the summer away......I was hoping time would pass by quickly so that my pre-contest prep wouldn't feel like it was dragging on forever and now it seems that summer has literally passed me by...I didn't even make it to the beach once! My summer has amounted to copious hours at work, in the gym and sleeping...oh well, there is always next summer.

As of tomorrow there is only two more weeks left until the Canadians.....my progress over the last few weeks has been absolutely mind boggling...I'm starting to freak myself out....lol...
aside from a recent shoulder injury and a nagging head cold, I'm in great spirits...I won't let anything get me down! I'm excited yet SO NERVOUS! I have become a total recluse, not wanting to talk to anyone or interact with the living world because my attention span is nill...lol...my brain is fuzzy and my memory is shot! Aaahhh the joys of pre-contest prep....I will have some down time very soon to rest up for the show.

The middleweight class is looking to be rather large this year in comparison to last year......roughly 12 women will be taking the stage to battle for the middleweight title....myself included, of course :)

If you haven't had a chance...do check out my NEW pics at Andy's Muscle Goddesses...he has featured me as Goddess of the Month!

Well, I'm off to the gym! I may post some pics tomorrow...until then, have a great weekend!
