Today is my first day off in a few weeks so I have a lengthy list of things I need to get caught up on and prep before I fly out to judge in FSJ. Another competition weekend is almost here...and just when I thought the weeks couldn't pass any faster...they have. I'm looking forward to getting away, but the 'work' required on my part just to travel makes me a little uneasy. I'll be double and triple checking to make sure I do not forget anything.
My prep is still going smoothly. My weight continues to drop at a steady rate, but my training is slowly being affected by it. I am losing a bit of strength, which can be frustrating at times however, I'm trying to make the most of it.
I'm constantly inventing new ways to make my food taste good....I do not really have a choice in the matter....the alternative is to eat bland, less than appetizing meals...YUCK! I'm approaching the end of week 9 without a single morsel of junk food...I can not believe I have gone this long without a cheat day! As you know, I'm very passionate and almost obsessed with food. In my family, food is very much a celebrational thing as well as a social thing...all we do is eat..lol... It's no wonder I became a certified cook... So, back to my original point...I LOVE food and it has literally taken every ounce of strength I possess to avoid 'falling off the wagon' so to speak. I enjoy 'entertaining'...I usually have friends, family or both over for dinner often....when my pre-contest prep starts I seldom have anyone over nor do I venture out much...it's easier to avoid any environment where food will be present and spare myself the misery. I received this amazing chocolate fondue fountain as a gift..I'm so excited to use it, but unfortunately, it's still sitting in its box where it shall remain until I get home from my show.
Oh well, only 11 more weeks of torture to go :-)
As for my movie watching endeavor....it's temporarily on hold..I haven't had a chance to sit still long enough to watch one.
The UFC fights last weekend were very interesting. I was surprised to see Keith Jardine get rocked by a newcomer..as for the outcome of the Liddell & Jackson bout....no comment...I had no idea as to who would dominate until the time came. Now that Jackson is the new champ, I'll look forward to seeing the two of them fight again.
Well, I should get started on my lovely and very lengthy 'To Do' list.
I'm hoping it's just as warm up in Northern BC as it has been here...maybe I'll get lucky and it'll be even hotter...
Once I get home, I'll be back at work for three days and then I'll be heading off to Edmonton to visit my trainer..now that is a trip I'm really looking forward to!
A few random pics for ya!
Have a great weekend!
