alright....now that I have had some time to 'catch my breath', it's time for an update. I'm home now and desperately trying to relax, but my excitement level is off the friggin' charts!!!! I'M AN IFBB PRO! Ok...there...I said it....lol....

Since I arrived home, I jumped back on my diet and headed straight for the gym.....I'll be making my pro debut in Atlantic City on September 15th! You see, no rest for the wicked! I figure, I'm already in shape so, why not go for it...I've got nothing to lose. Besides, I'll get to see some of Atlantic City. The best part is that not only am I competing, but my pal Nicole Ball will be hittin' the stage as a lightweight and my trainer will be competing at the same show as well!

A pic of Nicole and me...

All in all, winning the overall was an awesome experience...the elation and momentum since the show continues...my friends and family fuel the fire...lol...the excitement is extremely contagious and has affected almost everyone I know here in my little city :) Even the local newspaper had a blurb in it about me yesterday!

Trainer of Champions - IFBB pro Helen Bouchard & me

Yes, you read that correctly...Helen is a trainer of champions....last year it was Nicole Ball (see above) who reigned victorious under Helen's guidance and this year it was me. I gotta say, this woman really knows her shit!

As of now, my email inbox is exploding...I'm doing my best to get caught up, but I fear it may take some time so, if you sent me an email and I have yet to reply, please be patient :) I will get to them all eventually, but probably not before I depart for Atlantic City...sorry :(

I'll leave ya with one final pic.....

Enjoy your weekend!

I'm an IFBB pro!!!!!

I'm in shock! AND.... I am so proud to call myself the 2007 Canadian National Middleweight and Overall Champion....officially a pro! Does it EVER feel GREAT!
The last 20 weeks were an eventful yet colourful journey for me....as of tomorrow though, it's back to reality and my diet....I'll be making my pro debut in just a few short weeks in Atlantic City! I'm still out of town for the next few days....I'll give you a full update when I get home.

First things first....I have to extend a HUGE heartfelt thank you to my trainer IFBB pro Helen Bouchard...without her, none of this would have been possible!

that's all for now....off to a photoshoot with Steve Wennerstrom!

A few quick pics thanks to GeneX....

3....2....1....show-time!

I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Edmonton just getting ready to head out for my final workout before the show.....YAHOO!
It's been a long road, but I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel :)
I'm seriously having a diffcult time comprehending that I'll be stepping on stage in 3 days....it feels like my diet only started a few weeks ago. Regardless, at this point, I feel fantastic! I'm extremely excited to step on stage and I'm absolutely ecstatic about how I look....I can't wait to see what the end of the week brings.....
Helen's 'plan' is doing some incredibly amazing things to my body.... I never know what to expect when I wake up in the morning because my body is morphing so quickly.
I'll keep you posted if I can...and if you're lucky, I may even post a pic in the next day or two......

Wish me luck.....

only 11 days to go!!!!!!

considering we're on the 'eve' of the 10 day countdown in to my show, I'm finding myself gaining momentum with each passing day! I am so excited yet nervous that I can barely explain it. My moods are erratic and unpredictable at this point...I'm experiencing both extreme highs and lows. Some days I find myself wishing the show was 'tomorrow' while on other days, I figure I have the patience to hold off a while longer because time has passed so quickly. I know I am extremely guilty of 'wishing the time away' so to speak and yet time has passed at such a rapid rate that I'm fighting to enjoy it as well...does that make any sense at all? As you can see, I'm truly not functioning on all cylinders these days....my grasp of reality seems to be slipping a little bit. When it's all over, I'll probably look back and chuckle at all the ups and downs I've experienced, but for right now, because the show is so close, it's hard to see the humour in any of it.

The weirdest part of it all is that my training is still going amazingly well...yes, I have lost some strength, but I am the strongest I have ever been this close to a show. I think I have kept more muscle this year through the dieting process than any other year as well. I LOVE IT! As you know, I train with IFBB pro Helen Bouchard, this woman has been incredibly amazing to work with. Lets just say, the Helen-Nadia collaboration has been a great success thus far..... From my fantastic off-season she created filled with food and hardcore training to the guidance from Helen regarding every specific detail of my pre-contest prep, she has left nothing to chance. Because of her, I'll be bringing the best 'Nadia' ever to the stage this year! The outcome 11 days from now is unpredictable, but at least I know that I'll be in my BEST shape ever....we'll just have to let the chips fall where they may. Until then, I'll continue thinking positively and remain focussed on the big day ahead. Just to give you an idea of how dedicated Helen is, she flew in on Sunday just for the day so she could see me.....we live nearly a 2 hour flight away from one another and communicate often via email/telephone and I do send pics occassionally, but obviously nothing is the same as seeing me in person. We decided that I'd spend my final week leading up to the show with her in Edmonton where she'll be checking my condition every single day leading up to the competition. I'm super excited about training with her for my final couple of workouts before the show.

I'll be leaving for Edmonton this upcoming weekend. I have tons to do between now and then so this may be my final update until I arrive home from the show.
Cross your fingers for me on Saturday the 18th and hopefully I'll return home with a very happy/positive journal entry!

as per usual, I'm off to the gym, but before I go, I'll leave ya with a few pics of my pal Tanya and me at the gym just messin' around....this gal is a great friend of mine, we actually met at the gym. In the roller-derby world she's known as 'Forca Nature'...she is one of those whom you refer to as CRAZY, but in a good way :)

I'll be sure to post again in a few weeks...stay tuned for new pics!
Have a great day!
