the weekend
Not much new here.... my weekend has been super busy. I worked all weekend, but I'm certainly not complaining. I prefer to be busy rather than not having enough to do. Yesterday was my so called 'CHEAT' day...as I have mentioned before, I have been on a maintenance diet all winter so I entitle myself to one cheat day every week.....on this day, I allow myself to indulge in all of my weekly cravings....yesterday, I ate copious amounts of food! My morning started with 4 cookies and a cup of coffee with french vanilla cream...mmmm it was good! Then I baked an apple crisp which I snacked on during my breaks from work. I ate lots of chocolate and penny candies. Amongst snacking on anything near by, I did make myself a grilled cheese sandwich and Kraft dinner... also, I ate four pieces of pizza. Last night, a few friends came over with two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts (no, I didn't mispell the word, it's written on the box that way)..one of my friends that came over is also getting ready to compete this year and it was her cheat day too...she and I both consumed 7-8 (donuts) each...they were awesome! It was funny, the more I ate, my vascularity kept increasing and my muscles started to swell..by the time we were finished, my body was a road-map of veins and my arms seemed to increase in size by at least an inch...they looked huge! My friends and I finished off the evening with chocolate and strawberries...it was delightful! I shouldn't forget to mention that at about 11pm we decided we wanted to 'order in' some food...we couldn't decide whether we should order pasta, pizza or other goodies like chicken wings etc., but by the time we decided what we wanted, it was too late and our cheat day was over :( Oh well, there will always be next week.
Although I love my cheat days, I am really looking forward to starting my pre-contest diet. I find it fascinating to watch my body change. I prefer/need structure in my daily food plan...I'm one of those people who would rather eat what ever I want when ever I want, but if I did that, I would grow to monstrous proportions and I doubt I'd ever get in enough good 'growing' food to make progress or changes to my physique. Also, structure keeps me focussed.
Now speaking of cheat days...Easter is next weekend....I can't wait to eat!
Only three weeks left until I start dieting.
I'm off to the gym, training chest & calves today, it's going to be a great workout..all the food from yesterday should make it easy to power through it.
