I'm back :)

I'm back! FSJ was an absolute blast! The show was great, very organized and efficient and it had some good quality competitors for a novice level show. The flight up there and home was good too....although I slept the whole the way home.

This past weekend was literally a reunion of Team Autumn with the exception of a few women...all of us gals went out to lunch together and created quite the stir upon entering the restaurant. I don't think that small town had ever seen so many muscular women together at one time...it was amusing.

With the exception of Desiree, the rest of us will be meeting up again in four weeks at the Fitness and Figure National Championships in Edmonton. I'll be sure to get more pics.

This past weekend marked the 16 week out point for me....I've now hit cruising speed and my pre-contest prep is rolling so to speak. My body is starting to change in ways I had never imagined...this is going to be an amazing journey! I wasn't able to weigh myself while I was away so, it'll have to wait until next weekend....

Yesterday was my cheat day...prior to my departure from FSJ, my morning started with a variety of chocolates, then we were off to breakfast where I polished off a grilled sticky bun topped with extra butter and a stack of pancakes. A few hours later we stopped at another breakfast hot-spot where I consumed sausage and eggs with toast and hashbrowns...mmm it was GOOD! I did snack on a few treats during the afternoon, but then we stopped for a late lunch in the Vancouver airport during the layover between flights where I had a grilled Italian style sandwich and curly fries. Finally, when I got home, I ordered some pizza, ate roughly 5 pieces, had a cookie, relaxed on the sofa and fell asleep. I guess all of the excitement and sleep deprivation from the weekend had finally caught up with me...lol...

I'll leave you with some pics from my trip...enjoy!

Off to FSJ...

I thought I'd take this opportunity to write a bit before I'm out of time...I'm currently in the midst of packing for my trip to FSJ (Fort St. John). I do need to squeeze in one last workout before I leave so I'll be heading out to the gym to train 'arms' shortly. As soon as I'm finished, I have to rush home, finish packing, cook food for my trip (restaurant and airport food won't cut it), run a few errands, and then finally try and get some sleep before my early departure tomorrow morning.

My first flight is a quick trip over the ocean to Vancouver (roughly 20 mins.) where I'll be meeting up with Tatiana Anderson, Sandra Wickham and others...we have a 3 hour lay over before flying up to FSJ (a 2 1/2 hour flight) where we will be meeting up with Autumn Raby and Desiree Ellis...it should be a fantastic weekend!

I promise to return with pics so check back on either Sunday night, Monday morning OR both :)

Have a great weekend!

Victoria Day

Today was a statutory holiday here in BC....it was Victoria day! Most people take the day off to enjoy the local festivities or watch the parade or catch the end of the Luxton Rodeo which took place here in town over the weekend. Regardless of what was going on around town, I made my way to the gym to train... The gym was amazingly quiet which was really nice...

Here are a few candid pics of me resting during sets at the gym today...

17 weeks out

Here we are again....as of yesterday, I'm 17 weeks out from the BIG day! My weight is down to 148lbs. which means I'm slowly but surely making progress :) By the looks of things at this point, my pre-contest prep is going to be a breeze. To top it off, I'll be guest posing in 13 weeks...yahoo! I will be posting occassional progress pics here in my journal, but the rest will be in the contest countdown section.

On Friday, I'm flying to northern BC to a little town called Fort St John... I'll be judging a competition for the weekend, but the best part is that Autumn will be there too! I promise to get a few pics of us together. Look for them next Sunday or Monday :) Unfortunately, while I'm away, my sister will be competing in Figure at a different competition, I'm sorry that I'll be missing it, but I'm sure she'll do well!

As for the upcoming weekend, it'll be fun to have a cheat day while visiting with Autumn...our friend Sandra will be there too..she's roughly 7 weeks out from the Little Rock show. I'm sure we'll find a breakfast buffet of some sort where we will consume lots of food and chit-chat about girl stuff...lol..

Life here is good....just working/training/cooking etc.

Because it's Sunday, it's also CHEAT day....the food list entails cookies, creamy coffee, an A & W mama burger combo, lots of candy, authentic Mexican dinner followed by some sort of yummy dessert...mmmm food....

Have a lovely day!

Sunday

Yesterday was not only my glorious cheat day, but it was Mother's day...we put on a surprise BBQ for my mom to celebrate Mother's day and her 50th birthday which is actually today! It was a BLAST! My mom didn't know what was happening...25 of us just trickled in the door one after the other...

Yes, my mom is young...she and I are only 19 1/2 years apart! Obviously my mom and dad started early...lol...

As per usual, because I enjoy cooking so much, I put together a huge spread of food which include twice baked potatoes, corn on the cob, a few different salads, BBQ'd steak and heavenly desserts :) It was very warm yesterday so we were able to eat outside too! I love the Spring!

At every family event, someone always has a camera so...here are a few pics of my sis and I together.... one relaxed and one posed pic....

10 weeks out

5 1/2 weeks out

2 weeks out

and you've seen the show pics so...now you'll have to watch this transformation.

contest countdown

The NEW contest countdown section should be up today or tomorrow....as I have mentioned, my pre-contest prep is underway. I will be posting my weekly progress pics in the 'countdown' section.

This past week was interesting for me, I have started feeling the chages in my body...everything is starting to tighten up...I love the feeling! Considering I have 18 weeks to go, my body will be doing a lot more tightening up over the coming weeks :) I'm SO excited!

My strength hasn't been affected yet so, I'm training as heavy and hard as I can. I have been seeing a massage therapist on a regular basis just to keep everything loose and injury free although I do have a few nagging irritations in my 'left trap'and my right quad... it's probably just fatigue.

Today, my weight was down a bit more...not as much as I thought I would be, but regardless, I'm now down to 151 lbs.

Here are a few pics from my radical transformation before my last competition.

17 weeks out

13 weeks out

I'll add more to the next post....

last weekend

Last weekend was awesome, my trip to Kelowna was more fun than I had expected!
The weather was fabulous and the lengthy drive went by quickly as I had some great company..IFBB pro Sandra Wickham was along for the ride. For some of you who don't know her, she competes in Fitness. The two of us chatted up a storm the whole way.
It was nice to visit with the judges who I see only five or six times per year. Aside from that, I did visit with friends and family...I also saw the promoter for our Provincial Championships, he gave me some copies of the poster....
If I have neglected to mention it up until now, I'll do so.... I'm guest posing four weeks before my show...I'm scheduled to make my very first guest posing appearance on August 19th. The best part is that I'm posing alongside Gunter Sclierkamp...it should be fun!

As of tomorrow, I'm now 19 weeks out from the Canadians, I will be taking pics tomorrow morning, they will be added to the contest countdown section....be sure to check back and watch me transform. I had let my weight creep up to 160 lbs. right before the crunch came...I'm now back down to 152 lbs. which means my diet is working and the weight is coming off as it should.

Three weeks from now I'll be out of town again to judge another competition, but this time...Autumn will be meeting me there. Hopefully, she and I will get a few pics together...if so, I'll be sure to post them :) My next trek will take me up to a little town on the northern end of BC, it's called Fort St. John... it's an interesting place with very friendly people. I'm eagerly anticipating this trip as it will be another opportunity to catch up with some friends I haven't seen in a while. Come to think of it, IFBB pro Desiree Ellis will be performing at the show...I'll be sure to try and catch a pic or two of her routine...
Now speaking of Desiree, she and I have actually become friends over the last few years, she's a great person. For your viewing pleasure, a pic of Des and I at the Olympia in 2005.

That's all for now, have a great weekend!
