9 weeks out

9 weeks out...as of this morning my weight is down to 139lbs. ...there is no doubt that I will be a middleweight this year. I dropped 5lbs. this past week which is very unusual for me, my body tends to lose a little each week, I don't typically lose it in 'chunks' so to speak. I have yet to do ANY cardio and by the looks of things, I highly doubt I'll be going anywhere near the treadmill this year...thank goodness...I hate cardio! Up until this past week, my pre-contest prep had been really easy, but now the hunger is starting to set in and it's making me a little grouchy!

5 weeks until I step on stage again...oh yes, I'll be guest posing soon...I'm a little nervous, but I need the practice before I step on stage to compete..after all, it's been 2 years! I need an opportunity to 'shake off the cobwebs'...my posing was really rusty, I have been forcing myself to practice every day.

As for my measurements, things are shrinking a bit...

biceps - 15 1/4 inches
chest - 41 inches,
waist - 27 inches
quads - 25 inches
calves - 15 1/2 inches

some progress pics....

Have a great weekend!

end of the week

Friday..the end of the week...AND I trained arms....pretty exciting huh?
Aside from working and dieting not much new to report for this week.
My training is still going well although I am starting to lose a wee bit of strength...I'm certainly not complaining...things could always be worse.
I'm not sure where my weight is at this week, but I'll be getting on the scale tomorrow morning, I'll be sure to keep you posted.

Now speaking of training arms, my workout was awesome...I started with bi's and finished with tri's...my poor arms are fatigued beyond belief...the one thing I do like as I get leaner, my arms get very vascular, I think it's kinda cool! Come show time, I'll be a walking road map...lol..

Now that the weekend is here, I'm eagerly awaiting my cheat day...we (my trainer & I) made some dietary changes this past week which made this week a little more difficult than usual, I'm in NEED of calories! No worries though, I'll be eating in no time at all. I'm going out for dinner with a bunch of people this weekend to celebrate a friends b'day....we're heading to a place called the Japanese Village...they cook right in front of you...the food is always awesome and Japanese Village is known for its heavenly steak sauce!!!

Speaking of birthdays, I'd like to wish my friend Jen Jewell a VERY Happy Birthday! It's her b'day today, but unfortunately she isn't celebrating because she's dieting for an upcoming competition.

I will be posting a few progress pics tomorrow along with an update of my prep/weight/measurements...be sure to check back.

For now, here are a few pics from my workout today...

update

I haven't had a ton of time to myself lately....things have been ultra hectic since I got home from Edmonton. I have been working 7 days/week while training/dieting and trying to get some rest. I DO like being busy, but this is a bit much. My 'inbox' is swamped with email which I have yet to read and unfortunately, I won't be able to get to it until the weekend.

So far, my pre-contest prep couldn't be going better...I'm amazed by my own body! The 'freakish' changes taking place are incredibly motivating...watching my own body progress is keeping me very focussed. It is certainly making it easy to eat 'diet food' every day. To date, I'm still not doing any cardio, can you believe that? I certainly don't want to jinx myself, but I do know that I may be adding in a little bit of cardio during my last month of prep...we'll wait and see:)

I have great news....I have been contacted by the Masino's...I'll be flying to Las Vegas immediately after the Canadians to shoot for ME...I'M SO EXCITED! Two fun filled weeks in Vegas!

This past weekend was a blast, I was able to sneak away from work for a few hours to go and watch a local 'strong man' competition that featured a few pros....the proceeds from the event went to a local charity. The brute strength displayed by some of the individuals competing was simply amazing. My friend Bonnie amongst others joined in to watch the event.

Check back next weekend because I'll be posting a few progress pics....

Until then, I'll leave you with a few pics from the weekend...

I'm home...quick update

I'm finally home after my sleep deprived trip to Edmonton....I have been gone for a week. It truly is nice to be home. The Fitness & Figure Nationals were a blast... Not only was it fun to be in Edmonton and shop at the West Edmonton mall, but a few of my friends competed over the weekend...it was nice to be there and cheer for them.
The weather was fabulous...very warm and sunny.

While in Edmonton, I 'bumped' in to numerous, notable, national level competitors including Nicole Ball who looks to have added some awesome muscle mass, Carmen Tocheniuk who will be moving up to middleweight this year (I think).... Jessica Chalifoux (formerly Oscroft) who looked absolutely fabulous... Shelly Yakimchuk (former bodybuilder who made the switch to Figure) and Tatiana Anderson who is getting ready to compete at the Canadian Nationals this year. There were many others, but I just can't remember them all at the moment.

I am in serious need of sleep after my week away. I was up at 3:30 yesterday morning to catch the shuttle to the airport for my early morning flight home....I was actually feeling nautious because leading up to my trip home, I had gotten roughly 3 1/2 - 4 hours of sleep/night for the last week. As we all know, we competitors need our sleep during our pre-contest prep so needless to say, I'm a little grouchy. I should be back to normal by tomorrow...

I'd like to send out a HUGE congratulations to the ladies of Team BC who competed this weekend! Each and every one of them looked awesome!

I need to eat and take a nap before I train...I'll write more later.
