3 weeks out!!!

My guest posing appearance last weekend was an absolute blast! I had the time of my life and the crowd response was truly unbelievable! I would do it again in a heartbeat :)As soon as I have some pics in my possession, I'll be sure to post them.

The show was packed full of high calibre competitors...some of the stiffest competition we have seen in years at a Provincial level event. Watching the show was very motivating...

I was able to catch up with Autumn, Tatianna, Pam, Carmen and a few other's...we'll all be at the Canadians this year...

It's almost show time...with only three weeks to go, I am quite happy with where I'm at....some fine tuning over the next few weeks should have me in wicked condition come September 16th. My prep certainly isn't for the 'faint of heart'..it's taking every ounce of strength in my body to hang on....I'm on a serious mission! Although I'm suffering, in the end, it should be worth it. Three weeks certainly isn't a long period of time, but from here and now, it seems like an eternity. I must keep in mind that I'll be departing for Saskatoon in only 2 1/2 weeks and that all of my prep will be over in 2 weeks today....the last week will be exhausting, but atleast my work will be done! After that, my fate is in the hands of the judges...I'm just working hard to display my best package EVER!

midweek update

Tomorrow morning will be my last workout before I leave on my trip....I still can't believe I'm guest posing in only a few days. Training this week has been a little nuts because I had to change up my training schedule to accomodate my trip. Typically, I train the same body parts on the same days each week...I like structure :) However, this week has been chaotic as all hell with trying to get some last minute things done before I leave.

Travelling while dieting is never fun...pre-cooking and then reheating diet-food makes it that much more difficult to consume..I prefer freshly cooked meat etc. I'm extremely fussy when it comes to my food...it has to taste good and believe me, I have found ways to make my diet food taste great. Aside from the food, I'm trying not to forget anything before I go...my carb depleted brain isn't allowing me to function like usual. My attention span is VERY limited...lol...

My weight is still dropping gradually...making weight won't be an issue this year...thank goodness! I'm not sure where I'm at this week, but I'll be sure to weigh myself before I go.
My hotel and flight are booked, I finally filled out the entry form and now, all I have to do is ride out the next four and a half weeks and then it'll be show time. Although I'm just slightly nervous about competing...the excitement is building...I can't wait to get up on stage again.

Enough about my pre-contest prep.... I will be meeting up with several friends this weekend including the lovely Autumn Raby, Tatiana Anderson, Desiree Ellis, Pamela Howard and others...it should be fun. We will get to enjoy a cheat day together after the show starting with a breakfast buffet on Sunday!...to top it off, we will be shooting together..stay tuned for picture updates.

Anyway, that is enough of my rambling....a few new pics for your viewing pleasure :)

5 weeks to go!

My webmaster is home and my journal is fixed!!!! YAHOO!
Well, as of today I have 5 weeks to go....I never though it was possible to be SO excited yet shit-scared at the same time! Not only is my pre-contest prep on my mind, but I'm guest posing alongside Gunter next weekend! I'm not much of a 'ham' on stage...I never have been. I'm one of those peole who typically does a routine only because I have to not because I want to. My main focus has always been training and competing and not the performing aspect of it. So, I'm sure you're wondering, why have I chosen to guest pose? I was asked to do it and I felt it would be a great opportunity to ensure I'd be close to contest condition further out from my show than usual. It'll also be a great opportunity for me to practice my posing routine.... On a positive note, this experience is encouraging me to put more effort in to my routine and have some fun with it. The best part is that I will get a preview of what I'll look like on contest day.... Aside from that, many of my friends/family who haven't had the opportunity to see me on stage will be able to travel to the event and watch me perform :) My music is cut and it is AWESOME! My posing routine itself is almost finished....I have 5 days to perfect it and then I'm on the road to the show. I promise to post a few pics when I get home.

My workouts have been great...I have actually gotten a bit stronger....I didn't think it was possible, but I guess it is...I'm certainly not complaining though. I seem to be growing new veins every day..some people dislike vascularity, but personally, I think it's awesome...it looks VERY freaky!

Unfortunately, I'm working today..I'd love a chance to sit around and do nothing or maybe even go to the beach....oh well, I'll have some time for that soon enough.

aarrrggghhh

reposted from August 4....
technology isn't always user friendly...Blogger has me ready to pull my hair out...but is it the program or is it me...at this point in time I'm not really sure...all I know is that I have been trying to update my journal for weeks without any luck... unfortunately, my webmaster has been out of town so he was not able to assist in sorting out the problem....aaaahhhh the aggravation continues....

Well, as of tomorrow I'm 6 weeks out from the Canadians and all is well..I'm rotating through good days and bad days at this point...some workouts are better than others, I'm no longer sleeping through the night and I'm ALWAYS hungry...fun stuff huh? Although pre-contest prep can be difficult, it is worth it.....I'm trying to enjoy the whole process. I'm very happy with my progress so far....

I'm counting down the days until I guest pose...I do need to practice posing a bit more though....14 days should be more than enough time for me to ' iron out' the kinks :)

I'm excited about my upcoming cheat day on Sunday....not sure what I'll eat first because I haven't been craving anything. I'm one of those people who would like to try a bite of everything, I don't even have the desire to finish a chocolate bar...one bite is good enough....
For someone who LOVES food, I do have a difficult time deciding what to eat on my cheat day...I may have to go to the grocery store tomorrow night and find some treats.

Tomorrow - Saturday, my family is getting together to celebrate my cousin's b'day..can you imagine, another family get-together...thank goodness we get along well! Unfortunately, I won't be joinging them for dinner and dessert, but I will be there to visit, it should be fun :)

Have a great weekend!

I trained shoulders today...thought I'd share a few pics...enjoy!

this past weekend

Reposted from July 26 due to problems with Blogger...This past week has been REALLY hectic...not only did we celebrate my parents 30th wedding anniversary last weekend, but my brother's girlfriend gave birth to a baby boy, my new nephew! He is so cute! He weighed in at a whopping 8lbs. 9oz. when he was born! So, aside from the events I mentioned above, we had family in from out of town to celebrate the occassion...lots of fun. Things are starting to settle down now though...everyone has gone home.On to other news, my suits are finished and they look great...of course, they don't fit now, but they will :) I can't believe this upcoming weekend marks 7 weeks out from my show...yikes! time is almost passing too quickly. Three weeks from Saturday I'll be on stage guest posing....I'm finally starting to get excited although I should be nervous because I haven't really started working on a posing routine...oh well, I may just have to get out there and 'wing' it...lol...My moods are starting to fluctuate a little more frequently these days...the calorie deprivation is starting to bother me a bit....I'm finding that I'm a little less patient and quite tired. I have been forced to reduce my work schedule so that I have more time to myself. My body needs rest and so does my mind... the low carbs are causing me to become forgetful and overall fatigue is starting to set in...I usually don't feel so bad this far out from a show...then again, I have never been this lean so far out from a show before! Training is still going well, I have managed to stick to my training routine and NOT miss workouts or meals....The weather here has been extremely warm, it's certainly not what we're used to in these parts...lol...it's usually warm with a breeze, but these days it's just plain hot and it's causing me to retain water...yuck! The temperature should be easing back over the next few days...until then, I think I'll take a few days and get to the beach!I'll write more at the end of the week....
