up & running again!!!!

WOW! I'm long overdue for an update...since my last post, I attended the local bodybuilding show, celebrated my 30th birthday, my domain name expired while my webmaster was out of town and here in Victoria, we suffered the worst snow storm we have seen in a decade.

Our final bodybuilding show of the season was a blast! It was really nice to catch up with some friends I haven't seen in a while. Attending a bodybuilding show always regenerates my interest in the sport and helps me to get motivated for my upcoming workouts! The after party on the Saturday night was a ton of fun....we sat and ate and drank to the wee hours of the morning.

As for my birthday...I turned 30 on November 24th....I certainly don't feel any older and the fact that I'm not heading in to my 30's and leaving my 20's doesn't bother me at all. The way I see it...I'm not getting older, I'm only getting better and wiser...lol... Some friends of mine through me a surprise brithday party on the 25th which was really cool. They hosted it at one of my best friends homes, we had a huge dinner, made a bonfire, had hot chocolate with Bailey's...roasted marshmallows and made smores while the snow fell continuously. It was cold, but it sure was fun!

Now speaking of snow, Saturday night was the start of a crazy winter storm we suffered through for the last three days. We dont usually get much snow in Victoria, but we got lots of it the past few days. It brought the city to a grinding halt! While it has been fun to have snow, the dropping temperature and the slippery, ice covered roads have made it tough to get anywhere. There power has been out for days in certain areas.

During this past week, my webmaster was out of town and coincidently, my domain name expired...sorry for any inconvenience this may have cause...but we're back up and running now!

Aside from above, my training has been great, I haven't missed a workout. The crazy weather caused the gym to remain closed, but because it's a 24 hour gym, all I need to get in is a swipe card...and because of the weather, the gym has been really quiet.

Well, I do have a pic from my birthday party which I'll add later...I'll post this one for now... Autumn, Bonnie, Alexis and me after the night show :)

away for the weekend

All is well here...been training my little heart out...have I mentioned how much I love the off-season? It's fun to be big and strong without getting too fat.My strength is continuing to increase at a rapid rate. Needless to say, I'm refocussed and really enjoying my training and mantenance diet.

It seems that winter is finally here....
I'm writing to you from my hotel room in Vancouver...it has been stormy as all hell...crazy wind, rain etc. I arrived here in Vancouver earier today...I was unable to travel yesterday due to the storm which rendered travel on or off the island virtually impossible. The commuter vessel system that runs between the island where I live and the mainland was shut down almost the entire day....the ocean swells were too much for the 500ft. vessels to handle. Oh well, the worst of it seems to be over for now...or until Sunday anyway...they're calling for another terrible storm at the end of the weekend. The excessive rainfall has rendered the drinking water undrinkable due to contaminants from surrounding soil....aaaahhh what a day. I made a trek to the local grocery store only to find that they are sold out of water...thank goodness the hotel offers free bottled water.

Aside from the above, tomorrow is the competitors meeting and weigh-in for our final bodybuilding competition of the season. I'm here early to work at the weigh-in/registration and then judge the event.

Tomorrow, I'm planning to head over to a local gym to finish up my last workout for the week...training arms :) By tomorrow evening all of my friends will have checked in to the hotel and the fun will begin. Tomorrow evening through til Sunday should be a blast. I'm looking forward to catching up with the girls and eating some good food...I might try and do a little shopping while I'm over in the BIG city...lol....

I really should get some sleep, it's 11:30pm and my eyes are starting to close on me.

Stay tuned for pics from the weekend!

it's November already!!!

The last two weeks have been rather eventful...it's time for an update :)
I was in Vancouver last week to meet with the producer & director...what a blast! I can't really mention much about my role in the movie at this time, but I will tell you that it'll be released next October AND it is a horror film that will be in theaters :) While in Vancouver, I was able to visit with my pal Tatiana, train at her gym and eat...it was tons of fun. The gym itself (Pantheon Athletic Club)was amazing, lots of different equipment, different atmosphere than what I'm used to at home, but incredibly huge! The gym is set up on two floors...very spacious AND very modern! Check it out, www.pacgym.com The gym is situated in the heart of downtown Vancouver at the corner of Hornby & Smithe...lots of parkades around too. The gym is so ideally located that there are restaurants literally steps from the doorway....there is a wicked Sushi restaurant directly below the gym..I seized the opportunity to eat there every chance I had.

After my adventure in Vancouver, I returned home to a more calming environment..the hustle & bustle of a metropolitan city is tough to deal with, especially if you're a gal like me...I live in what I often refer to as a "sleepy hollow"...I can get anywhere in less than 15 minutes...I do not have to plan my day around which direction the traffic is moving. Everything in my little city closes quite early whereas in the BIG city....nobody sleeps or at least it seems that way...lol...the hum of traffic is constant, it would certainly take some getting used to, that's for sure.

I have been back to my training schedule for the last few weeks now, but I have changed things a bit... it feels good to be training again...and some variety in my exercises is keeping it interesting. My off-season diet plan is going very well with the exception of treats..somehow I manage to sneak in a treat at least every second day. My weight has plateaued and isn't exceeding the limit I have set for myself which is nice....I'll need to step on the scale every third or fourth day to ensure it stays that way..if not, I'll be doing cardio all winter to ensure my weight stays down while I eat lots of good food....when I say good food, I mean lots of diet food. I'm trying to adapt to more food-volume at each meal. I love to eat!

As of right now, my muscle groups are massive...overall, I think I may be the biggest I have ever been without the bodyfat. A few winters ago, I did let my weight get a little out of hand...I got up to 180lbs. and everything was huge, but it was coated in a layer of fat.YUCK! I promised myself never to do that agin :) I'll be sure to post pics and stats in the coming weeks...

I skipped Halloween this year and opted to train instead of getting dressed up and going out with friends. I had been far too busy lately to even consider it. Oh well, there is always next year...

Now that November is here....my birthday is on the horizon and will be here before I know it..I'm going to be 30! I just can't believe it...time has really flown by...

Our last novice level show of the year is scheduled for two weeks from Saturday. As always, it'll be an opportunity for me to catch up with some of my friends that I don't see all that often...competition weekends are always a blast...I'm looking forward to it. I will be heading over to the show a few days early to finish up my workouts for the week at another gym that I really like....funny enough, it's the same gym we used to shoot some ME stuff a few years ago....aaahhh memories :)

Gotta eat some breakfast, have a great day!
