1 week to go

I am extremely excited...in 1 week today, I'll be arriving in Columbus, OH for the Arnold Classic!
Not only will it be fun to tour the expo and shoot for my site...my gal Denise Masino will be making her return to the stage..I can't wait!

Prior to the Arnold, the Sacramento Grand Prix is on this upcoming weekend....there are numerous women entered for the bodybuilding portion of the event...including my trainer! It'll be an incredibly competitive class. I'm interested to see some of these women on stage together...but pics won't do them justice...if I had more vacation time, I would have made a special trip down there. Good Luck Helen!

After my five day adventure to Columbus...I'll have a few days to rest when I get home and then my trainer will be flying in for three fun filled days. Training with her should be quite the experience! We'll be using this time to estimate my pre-contest start time etc. I can't believe my pre-contest prep is right around the corner...where did the winter go? It feels like the show was only last month. Despite the fact that the winter feels shorter than it has been, this has got to be one of the best off-season's I have had in years....it has been great to push my body to the next level of pain..lol...and development! The change in my training and off-season diet plan has been pretty inspiring!

This upcoming weekend, I'll be getting together with some friends for dinner..the final celebration before a few of them kick-off their prep for their respective competitions....now speaking of competitions...my travel schedule for the upcoming season is starting to look rather hectic..as you know, I'm a Provincial level judge here in BC...the first show of the season is at the end of April followed by numerous local and National level events...I'm a little uneasy knowing that I'll be literally globe-trotting through my entire pre-contest prep...lol... oh well, I'll try and make the most of it.

This will probably be my last update until I get home from the Arnold, but as promised, I'll be back with some new pics...both candids and galleries :)

Happy Valentine's Day!

All is well here...my neck is pretty much back to normal, my training is going well, my trip to the Arnold Classic is booked and I just finished one of the biggest work projects I have ever taken on. Jeez, that was a mouthful...lol...

It's Valentine's day and instead of going out to celebrate with someone special...lol...I'm going to the gym to train legs...fun stuff, huh? Come to think of it....I spent last V day in the gym too....

Regarding my neck, It's now fully functional again although I do have a numb spot in my left trap that is irritating as all hell. At this point, I won't bother complaining because it could certainly be worse. I'm still able to work and train, but I'll be happy when the tingling subsides.
My training is going surprisingly well, my strength seems to have plateaued though it certainly hasn't stopped me from growing.

Now speaking of training and muscle...I'm VERY excited about my trip to the Arnold Classic! This will be the first time I have ever travelled to Columbus or attended the Arnold. This should be quite the experience for me. Along with watching the women's events, I look forward to touring the expo and exploring the city. I do have a few friends who will be flying to Columbus as well, it'll be nice to visit with them too. I'll be back with pics, I promise! I sure hope it warms up there a bit before I go...I'm not prepared to deal with winter conditions..lol... Our weather here has finally warmed up...it's still raining occassionally, but the sun shines more often than not.

That's all for now...
A quick pic of me in 'red' for V-day!

and another pic from my friends b'day celebration a few weeks ago....

It's been a month

WOW! It's been a month since my last update....oops! This past month has been a blur...it passed by way too quickly! I have been exceptionally busy with work and have had very little time to stay on top of things like my journal. Sorry :(

Latley, I have been undergoing multiple treatments of physio and massage therapy for a partial dislocation in my neck..I fell off a latter at work and did a significant amount of damage to my traps, neck etc. It hasn't been fun, but hey, shit happens, right?

Aside from work, I have been busy trying to make travel arrangements to get to the Arnold Classic this year...I have never been and would really like to go. Besides, it's an opportunity to meet with old friends and make some new ones too..AND of course, shoot for my site.

To top it off, I'll be tuning in to watch the UFC fights tonight...a friend of mine is hosting a pot-luck dinner for it so, it should be fun. Of course, yours truly is having fun in the kitchen today preparing for the event. Now speaking of food, I have been baking like a mad-woman...lol..not sure what possessed me to do such a thing, but it has allowed me to brush up on my cooking skills.

So far, my training is going well...the injury caused a small hiccup, but I'm still pushing through each workout anyway.

To my surprise, I received some pics this past week from a shoot some friends and I did with Steve Wennerstrom the day after the Canadians...I thought I'd share a pic with you.

well, that's all for now, I must get back to the kitchen and finish what I've started.
