local events

Our local bodybuilding competition season begins this weekend. I'm travelling to Kelowna to judge the event and I'm truly looking forward to it. I'm just in the midst of packing up the last of my diet food/clothing etc. to get ready for my trip. Kelowna is a very pretty city, especially in the Spring and Summer months...there are orchards and vineyards everywhere. However, it's a bit of a trek to get there, it'll take me roughly 6 hours to get there from here.

I do have family in Kelowna so, I'm looking forward to visiting with them as well as some of my friends who'll be attending the show as spectators. I'm sure I'll have some pics to post when I get home.

It'll be very nice to train in a different environment..obviously, I won't be taking time off from the gym this weekend...lol... Now that I'm in pre-contest mode, I seldomly take time off nor do I miss workouts. I find it motivational to train in a gym with different equipment, it gives me an opportunity to try new exercises and experiment with my 'form'....

I'll share the details when I get home,
Have a great weekend!

Not much going on today...just working and enjoying some tasty food. I'm now counting down the days until I start dieting - 6 days to go. I know it won't be long before I'm lean again, I seem to lose weight very quickly. I'm VERY excited to trim down so that I can evaluate the gains I've made over the last two years... WOW! It has been almost 2 years since I last stepped on stage... without question, I'm the biggest I have ever been. I'll definitely weigh in on the 'heavy' end of the middleweight class this year!

A few pics from 2004....

Backstage, extremely depleted as is evident by my face.... making some last minute adjustments.

a few pics

I thought I'd post a few pics for ya...they were taken this afternoon just before I left for Easter dinner...

Easter dinner was awesome...we ate a variety of foods including turkey with all the trimmings ( mashed potatoes, gravy, etc.), traditional lasagna, and a mish-mash of other tasty dishes.
I have a HUGE family and we're always happy to spend time together....we never have less than twenty people at any given family dinner. We eat, laugh, visit and eat some more.... In my family, any family "get-together" entails food.... we don't require a special holiday to eat together....we do it almost every month.
I'm off to consume some more chocolate...my cheat day is almost over so, I need to maximize my food intake :)

Happy Easter!

Good Friday has come and almost gone... Easter weekend is here and I'm excited about it! I'll be using Easter Sunday as my cheat day this week so that I can enjoy chocolate/treats and Easter dinner with my family!

Even though today is a holiday, I made my way to the gym this evening to train arms like I do every other Friday night. Have I mentioned how much I love training arms? It was unusually quiet at the gym tonight...most Fridays are hectic in the gym.... I'm seldomly ever able to get through a workout without being interrupted or without waiting to use a bench/dumbbells/etc. Tonight was a welcome change from the usual....

My workout this evening went as follows: Triceps first - tricep pushdowns followed by nose-breakers and finished with tricep extensions then on to biceps....dumbbell curls followed by
one-arm preacher curls followed by inlcine dumbbell curls and finished with a few sets of cable curls...it was great!

Here are a few pics of me at the gym tonight....enjoy!

Happy Easter!

the weekend

Not much new here.... my weekend has been super busy. I worked all weekend, but I'm certainly not complaining. I prefer to be busy rather than not having enough to do. Yesterday was my so called 'CHEAT' day...as I have mentioned before, I have been on a maintenance diet all winter so I entitle myself to one cheat day every week.....on this day, I allow myself to indulge in all of my weekly cravings....yesterday, I ate copious amounts of food! My morning started with 4 cookies and a cup of coffee with french vanilla cream...mmmm it was good! Then I baked an apple crisp which I snacked on during my breaks from work. I ate lots of chocolate and penny candies. Amongst snacking on anything near by, I did make myself a grilled cheese sandwich and Kraft dinner... also, I ate four pieces of pizza. Last night, a few friends came over with two boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts (no, I didn't mispell the word, it's written on the box that way)..one of my friends that came over is also getting ready to compete this year and it was her cheat day too...she and I both consumed 7-8 (donuts) each...they were awesome! It was funny, the more I ate, my vascularity kept increasing and my muscles started to swell..by the time we were finished, my body was a road-map of veins and my arms seemed to increase in size by at least an inch...they looked huge! My friends and I finished off the evening with chocolate and strawberries...it was delightful! I shouldn't forget to mention that at about 11pm we decided we wanted to 'order in' some food...we couldn't decide whether we should order pasta, pizza or other goodies like chicken wings etc., but by the time we decided what we wanted, it was too late and our cheat day was over :( Oh well, there will always be next week.

Although I love my cheat days, I am really looking forward to starting my pre-contest diet. I find it fascinating to watch my body change. I prefer/need structure in my daily food plan...I'm one of those people who would rather eat what ever I want when ever I want, but if I did that, I would grow to monstrous proportions and I doubt I'd ever get in enough good 'growing' food to make progress or changes to my physique. Also, structure keeps me focussed.

Now speaking of cheat days...Easter is next weekend....I can't wait to eat!

Only three weeks left until I start dieting.

I'm off to the gym, training chest & calves today, it's going to be a great workout..all the food from yesterday should make it easy to power through it.

My sister's and I (My family calls us the 3N's)

One of the most beautiful places in the world, Hanauma Bay!

It's April

Ok, so it's been a while since I last posted...

All is well here, I'm just counting down the weeks until my pre-contest prep starts... three weeks and four days to go. This winter has passed by too quickly, it feels like it was only yesterday that I was in Hawaii.

Speaking of Hawaii, I should post some pics from my trip.

My weight is up these days...I'm sitting right around 150-155 lbs., it's the final 'push' with my diet so my food intake has increased for the time being...I love food so, I find it very easy to consume large amounts of it with the off-season luxuries such as sauces etc.

My training is going very well, I have made some awesome gains...all of my body-parts are the biggest they have ever been. I'm due for measurements soon.

Unfortunately, I have yet to appear on 'her biceps' webcam yet.... I have been meaning to make an appearance, but my training/work schedule have consumed much of my time.

The new DVD featuring Autumn and I has been available for weeks now, if you haven't already purchased your copy of 'FMM 7' send me an email to get one. This DVD does feature my very first solo scene.

That's all for now...
P.S. I'll be training chest tonight at the gym....perhaps I'll post a couple of pics for ya...
